Baggage and hand luggage

SCAT Airlines allow traveling with pets. We are prepared to do anything we can to make air travel the least stressful and the safest experience for your pet.

Only animals and birds approved by the airlines and with an authorization to enter the country of destination or transit for international flights, may fly on SCAT Airlines.

Birds should travel in cages covered with a material that is impervious to light.

During the reservation, the traveler must provide information on the species, quantity, and weight of the animal or bird he/she travels with.

Pets must be carried as a checked baggage in the separate aircraft cargo hold.

The weight of a pet is not included in a baggage allowance and a special baggage extra fee must be paid for a pet cage.

Seeing-eye dogs traveling with visually and/or audibly impaired passengers are allowed on board without a pet cage provided that they meet the following requirements – there’s a seeing-eye dog training certificate, they are muzzled and kept on a leash. The seeing-eye dog must travel under the owner’s seat at his/her feet. Feeding of seeing-eye dogs during check-in and flight is at all times prohibited!

Antagonistic pets (dog-cat) cannot be carried in the same aircraft cargo hold.

The Airline may deny boarding the passenger travelling with a pet, if no reservation has been made for it and the Airline has not confirmed such reservation.

Pets and animals must be carried in the aircraft cargo hold in the passenger’s pet cages.

No cattle, wild animals, test animals, bees, or fish seed are allowed as checked luggage.

A pet carrier (cage) must

• be spacious enough for the animal to be able to stand up, lie down, or turn around
• have a strong frame and connecting parts
• enable passage of air from 3 sides. Most of the air must pass through the top
• be clean, have a water-proof bottom, and have sufficient quantities of water-absorbing material (water-absorbing litter)
• have a ledge around the perimeter of the pet carrier to prevent any spillage of the absorbing material
• have handles

Passenger must get his/her pet something to eat and to drink and must feed and inspect the pet.
